Escape to Paradise: Your Unforgettable Walk Along Hastings Street, Noosa
Escape to Paradise: My Honest, Rambling, and Utterly Smashed-It Review of a Noosa Dream (or was it?)
Okay, buckle up buttercups, because I just got back from a "walk along Hastings Street" at Escape to Paradise, and lemme tell you, my feet are still throbbing, my heart is full, and my brain is a confusing jumble of sunshine, spa treatments, and a questionable encounter with a particularly enthusiastic seagull. This isn't your typical, sterile hotel review. This is real life. This is me, unfiltered, spilling the tea (or maybe the iced coffee… Hastings Street has a lot of coffee shops).
First Impressions: Accessibility, and the Sweet Relief of a Wheelchair-Friendly Entrance (and maybe a slightly wonky elevator?)
Right, so, let’s be honest, as a seasoned traveller I appreciate a hotel that actually understands accessibility. I needed to review this since my friend had a bad leg and was having some trouble walking. Escape to Paradise gets a HUGE thumbs up for being generally wheel-chair friendly. I mean, the entrance? Smooth as butter. Getting around the common areas? Mostly smooth sailing. The elevators? Well, let's just say they had a slightly… leisurely pace. (My friend was beginning to feel like she was taking the elevator to the moon.) But hey, progress, right? And the fact that they even thought about facilities for disabled guests is a big plus. Seriously, I'm often left wanting more.
The Room: Sunshine, Soaps, and the Glorious Absence of My Laundry
Okay, the room. Oh, the room. Let's just admire the free Wifi, because it was actually a treat to see it available in all rooms. I got a room on a high floor, and it felt like living in a cloud. Seriously, the views were absolutely to die for, and it was perfect for us. The air conditioning blasted cold (a godsend, let me tell you, after a day of… exploring Hastings Street). The blackout curtains? Slept like a baby. Okay, maybe a slightly caffeinated baby because I had too much coffee in room. The bathroom? Spotless. Little soaps. I could literally live there. Oh also, I really appreciated the daily housekeeping. My messy habits were hidden and the room was perfect all day long.
The Spa: Where My Stress Melted into a Pool of Bliss (and Possibly a Little Bit of Disappointment)
Now, the spa. THIS is where things got interesting. Escape to Paradise boasts a spa. With a pool with a view. Oh, and a sauna and a steam room. As per the listing, it had the Body Scrub and Body Wrap. I was SO THERE. I was going to become a puddle of pure relaxation.
The pool with a view was, in fact, a spectacular view. Like, Instagram-worthy, "wow, I actually deserve this" kind of view.
I actually got the body scrub, and that was the best thing I did the entire time! The woman even made my feet feel perfect. It was a genuinely transcendent experience. I did not get the body wrap however, since it was booked out and in the end I was too lazy to change.
The gym? Well, I didn't look at it, but I've included it.
Food, Glorious Food: From Asian Breakfasts to Questionable Coffee
Hastings Street is a foodie paradise! Being able to get coffee and tea in restaurant was an amazing experience. Escape to Paradise has a LOT to offer. Breakfast was a buffet in restaurant. No, that wasn't a typo, the buffet in restaurant was an incredible experience. The Asian breakfast, was good, but the Western breakfast was perfection. The coffee shop was pretty good, although it was a hit or miss, and the pool side bar was a treat. I loved that they had the poolside bar. I'd grab one while I was in the pool and enjoy the view. Seriously, pure bliss.
I didn't enjoy the salad in restaurant, because I just didn't feel like eating salad. However, the restaurants looked amazing, and I am a fan of the desserts in restaurant. Overall though, there were good restaurants and there was a Vegetarian restaurant.
Safety First (and the Slight Panic Attack Over the Lack of Sanitizer)
Okay, let’s be real, post-pandemic, we're all a little obsessed with cleanliness. Escape to Paradise seemed to take it seriously. They claimed to use anti-viral cleaning products. The rooms sanitized between stays. I had a sanitiser with me, as I didn't see much of it in the public areas. There was however Hand sanitizer, but I was surprised by how little there was.
Things to Do and Ways to Relax: From Seagull Encounters to Unforgettable Walks
This is where Escape to Paradise absolutely shines. Hastings Street is right there. Seriously, you walk out the door, and BAM! Paradise. I was so lucky to be in a place of pure enjoyment. The massage was next level, but my friend was busy at the salon getting her hair done.
I did have one memorable experience, and that was the walk. Specifically the walk along Hastings Street. The walk was simply unforgettable.
The Verdict: Book It! (With a Pinch of Salt and a Heaping Spoonful of Sunshine)
So, would I recommend Escape to Paradise? Honestly, yes. It's not perfect (no place is!), but it's a fantastic base for exploring Noosa. The location alone is worth the price of admission. It's got the spa (even if you miss out on a body wrap). It's accessible (mostly). And the staff? Generally lovely and helpful. Just pack your sunscreen, your appetite, and maybe a little extra patience for those elevators.

Pattaya Paradise: Your 5-Bedroom Tropical Pool Villa Awaits!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because we're about to embark on a walking tour of Hastings Street and Noosa Sound so haphazard and authentic, even I might get lost. (And that, my friends, is saying something.)
Day 1: Hastings Street Hysteria (and Questionable Ice Cream Choices)
- 7:00 AM - The Awakening (and the Grumble of an Empty Stomach): Ugh. Sunrise. Apparently, it's supposed to be beautiful. All I see is the glint of the hotel room door, and the desperate need for coffee. And, more importantly, a decent croissant. Where IS that bakery everyone raved about?
- 7:30 AM - The Bakery Hunt (Victory!): Found it! Le Bon Choix. Okay, croissant is divine, the coffee? Bitter. Typical. Still, fuel is fuel. Time to face the day… and the hordes of perfectly tanned people that seem to be everywhere in Noosa.
- 8:00 AM - Hastings Street Reconnaissance: Okay, this is it. Ground zero for the Noosa experience. I'm already overwhelmed. So many shops, so much stuff. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be impressed or annoyed. Zara's looking at all the high-end fashion.
- 8:30 AM - The Beach Beckons (and Self-Doubt Sets In): Walking towards Main Beach. Everyone's already out there, looking like they belong on a magazine cover. Me? I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the wrong shoes. And I think I forgot sunscreen. Brilliant.
- 9:00 AM - Beach Bliss (Almost): Okay, sand between the toes is actually pretty nice. The ocean is the perfect temperature and the beach is beautiful. Still getting sand in places I hadn't anticipated.
- 9:30 AM - The Ice Cream Debacle: Okay, I saw a sign for a gelato shop. "Award-winning gelato!" it promised. How could I resist? I didn't realize there would be a line that snaked around the block. The wait was excruciating. I settled on pistachio but I am pretty sure I'd prefer another flavor. Should have picked the coconut. Now I'm stuck in the middle of a sugar rush and self-loathing because I didn't make the right choice.
- 10:30 AM - Retail Therapy (Mild Regret): Well, I bought a ridiculous straw hat. And a pair of linen pants that I'll probably never wear. At least I can look the part of a perfectly polished Noosa beach bum.
- 12:00 PM - Lunch at Bistro C: Everyone recommends it. It's supposed to be iconic. The food? Fine. The view? Stunning. The price? Ouch. Am I getting a sunburn?
- 2:00 PM - The Promenade Perambulation (and the Observation of Couples): Wandering the boardwalk, watching all the happy couples. Why am I not in a rom-com? The people are just… smug. Maybe I'll just go sit on a bench and judge quietly.
- 3:00 PM - The Secret of Gympie Terrace Let's be fair, it's a bit of a let down after Hastings Street.
- 5:00 PM - Sunset Drinks at Noosa Heads Surf Club: Okay, this is more like it. That's the beer finally kicking in. The view of the sunset is, undeniably, breathtaking. The company (myself) isn't half bad.
- 7:00 PM - Dinner at a random restaurant (maybe): I have my eyes on a place that sells pizza, but I need a nap first. After the nap perhaps a pizza. This day may have been a success.
Day 2: Noosa Sound and the Quest for Serenity (and a Decent Fish and Chips)
- 8:00 AM - The Awkward Hotel Breakfast: More coffee, more croissants. Still bitter.
- 9:00 AM - The Walk Begins (with a Slight Detour): Noosa Sound, here we come! Okay, I might have gotten a little lost already. Let's blame google maps.
- 9:30 AM - The Houses (and the Jealousy): Oh my god. The houses! The boats! The sheer, unadulterated wealth of it all! I'm pretty sure I saw a private helipad. Do they need a helipad? I feel a strange combination of envy and revulsion.
- 10:30 AM - The Quest for the Perfect Photo: I'm trying to capture the beauty, but my phone is doing a terrible job. I'm pretty sure I'm ruining everyone else's view of the sound.
- 11:00 AM - The Kayak Conundrum: Okay. I considered kayaking. Then I remembered I barely know how to swim, and the thought of tipping over into the water is terrifying. I'll take the easy option: I'll sit on the edge and dangle my feet.
- 11:30 AM - The Waterfront Wander (and the People-Watching): Okay, I am officially obsessed with the houses. What are interior designers like in this part of the world? I'm now making up stories about the people who live there.
- 12:30 PM - Lunch at a pub: I'm hungry; I need food. I want a burger.
- 2:00 PM - The Fish and Chips Mission: This is important. I'd like to find the perfect fish and chips. A place that isn't too greasy, with perfectly golden chips and tangy, flavourful tartate sauce. So, yes, I went to a takeaway shop, and the chips were soggy. Do I try another place? Do I just accept that the perfect fish and chips is a unicorn? I'm still not sure.
- 4 PM - Back to Hastings Street to see if I can find a new purchase: I need a new purchase. I saw a cute shop that sold hats.
- 7:00 PM - Dinner, dessert, and the inevitable crash: I can't bear the thought of leaving.
- 8:00 PM - Good night!
Day 3: Departure (and a Promise to Return)
- 7:00 AM - Early Morning Coffee and the Goodbyes: One last croissant, one last coffee (still bitter). Saying goodbye to this beautiful place. What a wonderful trip!
- 8:00 AM - Departure
